Hi everyone! I'm behind on blog posts, I apologize. I had a rough weekend, I wasn't feeling well and spent an entire day in bed on Saturday. I felt better on Sunday but not myself. Yesterday I spent trying to catch up on work and phone calls. Hubby had a great weekend! He did his motorcycle ride WITH his juices and fruit packed in his bag. Imagine being with all your friends who are drinking beers and BBQ and you pull out your juice and fruit to eat. I'm so proud of him for his dedication to this program. He really helps me get through my weak moments and stick to this myself. He has proven to me that if there's a will there's a way!
These past few days have been very easy. This juicing and eating only vegetables and fruit has become comfortable. We have even managed to PLAN our juices around errands, meetings, clients, and social activities. How is that for improvement?
Today I had great energy! I was able to get a lot of work done and felt like "my old self." I'm amazed at how clear and complete my thoughts are. I know that sounds silly but when brain fog is finally lifted you notice the little things! Hubby has had great energy for a couple of days and has lost about 10 pounds. (He got a haircut today and I swear he's 10 years younger. LOL!) We have 6 more days on this program and I'm very curious to see what else develops along the way. Are any of you juicing only, or have you ever juiced only for extended periods of time? What were your results?

Reboot Entry Program - Day 6
Wow, today was flawless. Yesterday we acknowledged we were eating more than juicing and made the decision to juice more today. It went so smoothly we had to question why we didn't do this from the beginning!
I think I'm having some detox symptoms. My arm pits hurt and the glands in my neck are sore. Oddly, I had good energy and focus today in spite of it. Hubby has a mild headache but it hasn't slowed him down either. I am grateful for this gradual detox, I think a harsher one would have made it harder to stay committed to the program.
I have to give a plug to the Reboot community online. I posted questions and they were answered with loads of support. I strongly recommend joining if you are doing this or any juicing program. Support and planning (even thought that has changed a few times) has been really crucial for us.
Tomorrow will bring a big challenge. Hubby has a motorcycle ride for the day and plans on taking his juices and food with him for the ride. We'll post tomorrow how it goes! Wish him luck!

Reboot Entry Program - Day 5
Finally...a great day! I'm organized, whew! It took both of us working together for about an hour and a half this afternoon to get all the food to where we felt it would be easier to flow. Everything is washed, chopped, sliced, cut, or put in a specific place by category. (fruits in one drawer, uncut veggies in the other) I'm posting a photo of what it looks inside the fridge tonight. Salads are all cut up but not combined, the ingredients are in separate containers. The menu for the day is on a dry erase boards, it makes life so much easier!
We watched Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead again tonight. It still motivates me and inspires on many different levels. I have a few questions for you all:
1.If you've watched the movie and then decided to follow one of the Reboot programs, which one did you follow?
2. Did you follow a strict juicing menu? Or one of the Reboot menus that allows for eating solid vegetables and fruits?
3. After watching the movie tonight, we wondered why we aren't on only juices. What's your feelings about switching to strictly juices in the second week? Will it be breaking the program or just going deeper with the same program?
I'm happy about all of this. I'm feel blessed to be able to do this and hope my experience makes me a better health coach. I am certain it will make me healthier!

Reboot Entry Program - Day 4
Ok, again, my day did not go as I wanted it to! I had the first juice in the morning, then some steamed veggies for lunch and planned to hit the store at that point for the rest of the day's food. It didn't happen. I had a 1:00 appointment so when I finished that we left for the store. We pulled into the parking lot at the grocery store to find a broken down SUV in the middle of everything. As we pulled around it we noticed a pregnant lady trying to put gas into it. Of course, hubby to the rescue! (I'm proud that he helped her) There was a problem and it delayed us shopping and leaving the store in a timely manner. By the time we got home it was 6:00, 6 hours without any juices or food when breakfast and lunch were so light. Not good.
We ate the menu suggestions for tonight's dinner, and sad to say there are no leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We were too hungry! It was delicious! I did get all the containers and baggies to organize the food for tomorrow. I am thinking I need to have to-go containers for WHENEVER we leave the house incase another situation stalls us while we're out we won't be left hungry. (It sounds so silly but when you're eating only fruits and veggies and drinking juices for some meals, missed meals/snacks mess you up. Especially since this is new and not how we normally eat and one of us is hypoglycemic. Not enjoyable.)
I feel a little confused about my lack of organization and the "failed" feeling over today. All my attempts to get this organized end in a little mild chaos. We didn't eat or drink anything we shouldn't have, we just didn't nourish ourselves like we planned to. Things happen, it hasn't ruined anything. We keep trying until we find what works. We do better tomorrow! That's how life works.

Reboot Entry Program - Day 3
EASY day!! It's getting easier to make the juices and food. I had no energy surges, no tiredness, no headache....could it be I only had a few hours of detox symptoms? What an awesome gift if this is the case!
I didn't have all of the ingredients needed to follow the day 3 menu to a tee. I have loads of food and in the interest of not letting it go to waste I decided to follow the day's menu as closely as possible but substitute with what was already on hand. It worked out just fine. I followed what was suggested and ended up substituting mostly for more greens. I didn't make the soup for dinner because we have so much food leftover from yesterday's meals.
Since my husband and I are getting busier, I had the idea today to buy small containers to put pre-cut fruits and veggies in and label each one for what they're intended for. (Breakfast, Mid-morning juice, lunch, etc) This is my task for tomorrow after a trip to the farmers market! I'll post pics of the finished project!
Thank you everyone again for all your support! I can't get over how good I feel today, hoping it stays this way!
Until tomorrow!

Reboot Entry Program - Day 2
I'm still nervous about this blogging bit. I'm going to stick with it though and I'm determined to become at least a semi-pro at it! Thank you to all my friends that are supporting me and encouraging everything I'm doing...juicing, blogging, business, etc.
Today was better than yesterday. I had great energy until about 3:00 this afternoon. Suddenly I felt like someone pulled the plug on me, I could not even concentrate on phone calls. I had to take a nap! I realized something that I may have to change in this menu...the breakfast juice was all fruit, sugary fruits like bananas, pears, and pineapple. The juice was more like a smoothie and was a large amount, I was full for long time. I suspect what happened is the morning fruits were spent and I crashed shortly after. I must sit down this evening and plan my day and schedule out better. I think more greens in the morning are definitely in order! This is good! It's forcing me to get off the lazy fence and get more actively involved in how I spend my time. GASP! A real schedule for me! (I swore off routine and tight schedules when my children moved away from home. I think parents deserve a break after they've done their work)
The food today was really absolutely delicious! I do not feel like I'm missing anything. I have not wanted to snack or "cheat" once. As a health coach I tell my clients when they're hungry to eat, no one ever made a healthy lifestyle change by going hungry or depriving themselves. I also am not a big fan of "diets" for the sake of losing weight, so please be clear that this is not my intent for this 15 day challenge. I am hoping to detox my body and literally reboot my health and energy. Even though I typically eat very well (organic foods, local as much as possible, no processed foods, not much sugar) we are exposed to toxins from everywhere on a daily basis. My husband spent 28 years in the military and I cannot imagine all the things he's been exposed to over those years. His intent for doing this 15 day program is to begin his detoxing in a gentler and more gradual way.
All in all, today was great. I definitely need to work on the schedule and being a little more organized. Looking forward to day 3, I'm ready for whatever comes our way!

Reboot Your Life, Entry Program - Day 1
When I watched the movie Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead a couple of weeks ago I was motivated to jump into a juice fast. If you've watched the movie it's hard not to become a fan of Joe! He not only turned his life around he regained his health and vitality. He then used his experience to begin teaching others how they, too, could reclaim their health through a juicing regime. How could you not want to be like Joe!?
For once I decided to PLAN for this instead of jumping right into it, like I usually do with most things that I get excited about. I spent a week reading over the program on the website for Reboot Your Life that a friend passed on to me, http://jointhereboot.com/. (Thank you Laura) It's a good thing I did this, I took a quiz on the website that told me what program I should begin with. The Entry Program, which is a 15 day introductory type program. At first I felt disappointed that this particular program was suggested, it's not 100% juicing and I have this "all or nothing" trait about myself, I felt I wasn't REALLY doing what Joe did. After today, I'm so thankful I listened to their advice and surrendered my need for control here. It's a very useful webpage that includes a support community as well as suggested daily menus and recipes for each program. (This makes shopping for your supplies and food so easy!) They know what they're talking about!
So today was the first day. I'm not going to lie, I feel hungry..or at least I think I do. Probably the most powerful thing that has stood out for me today is the realization of how much I use food for my own personal entertainment. We watched a football game without the usual spread of foods that we'd munch on throughout the whole game. (We made it but sadly our team did not.) A couple of other times during the day when I was bored I thought I'd get a snack and immediately acknowledged I didn't NEED one. Maybe it wasn't a great idea to eat a huge meal and drink one glass too many of wine the night before I was to begin a juice fast. The over-indulgence probably did not set me up for a great start. Regardless, I did well today. I stuck to the menu plan and the fact I organized all the food prior made today go pretty smoothly.
My husband is also participating in this 15 day program, I'm really happy to have a partner and support during this. We are headed to bed here before 10 p.m. and feel that tomorrow is going to be better since we did so well today. Tomorrow we'll pick up the exercising, getting outside for fresh air and sunshine HAS to be a good thing! Tomorrow is a busy work day and will present the first big challenge of sticking to this. I have a plan! Thermos bottles and to-go containers for the food, and a small cooler to carry it all in. We'll do this!
